This is a little exercise I’ve build to pratice hand painted textures both in photoshop and substance painter. Textures were added over a normal mapped mesh, originally sculpted in zbrush.
The concept was to create an altar that would be the centerpiece of a big flooded cave were a magical sword would be locked to be rescued. The hand would be old master holding it while the crystals represent the locking cage where it is sealed and would be pulsing with it’s magical power.
The stone piece and crystals were done out of polyspheres, then I’ve made the retopology of the meshes, sent then to max with GoZ and unwrapped there. The sword was originally modelled and unwrapped in max.
The whole exercise took 10 hours to build.
